Power factor correction "MV-referenced LV-compensation" is a common way to achieve power factor correction and optimize power quality. Reactive power is adjusted throug middle-voltage sampling and low-voltage compensation.

Working principle

MV-referenced : Collect signals from middle-voltage sides such as 10kV and 6kV to reflect the overall reactive power demand of the system, avoid low-voltage load uneven errors, and provide a basis for SVG and other equipment.

LV-compensation: Based on middle-voltage sampling data, SVG are used for compensation on low-voltage sides such as 0.4kV. The equipment cost is low and easy to maintain.

Core role

Accurately correct the power factor: Relying on the global data of middle-voltage sampling and the real-time load information on the low-voltage side, the power factor is controlled above 0.95 through dynamic adjustment of low-voltage equipment to avoid under-compensation or over-compensation.

Balance cost and regulation efficiency: The cost of low-voltage equipment is relatively low, and devices such as SVG have a fast response speed and can efficiently meet the regulation needs.

Eliminate the blind spot of reactive power loss in the system: Break the limitation of traditional low-voltage sampling that only covers local areas, take into account the reactive power loss of both the middle-voltage side (transformer) and the low-voltage side (load), and realize full-link reactive power optimization.
